Ultra-Processed foods are very high in calories example 100 gm of potato chips have 545 calories where as home-baked potatoes contain only 95 calories.
Ultra-processed food contains high added sugars to increase the test of food and make it more attractive to children and teens. Manufacturers add sugars in the form of fructose syrup and sugar syrup. Especially cold drinks packed with fruit juice and energy drinks have high added sugars.
Ultra-processed foods have low fibers, less protein, vitamins, and minerals. Ultra–processed foods have synthetic colors to make them more attractive.
These processed foods especially ultra-processed foods are causing agents of many chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and obesity. Obesity is the biggest cause of ultra-processed food
